Well, HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR. Imbolc has already come and gone and Brigid reminded us at the weekend that Spring is a-coming. Give me a cold day with a blue sky any time <3

I’m finally getting to bring my own work to a theatre closer to my home town. <3
THE HEAT is surreal dance theatre piece that begins in the realm of the domestic space. As the landscape unravels, cracks appear, and through them seep the dark psyche, simmering desires, and moments of biting absurdity transforming the home into a dreamscape of tension and primal energy.
I’m so excited to share this work. It’s been quite a while since i’ve shared my independent live work. I’ve been researching and marinating in this one for a while. THE HEAT has an incredible team of collaborators and i’ve been upscaling and changing my process and direction. It would mean the world to me for this work to reach people.
The work is created in collaboration with and performed with Caroline Reece, Masumi Saito, Yen-Ching Lin, Bea Bidault and Bonnie Bogya. I’m very lucky to be collaborating with several other inspiring artists on composition, set design and lighting. I’ll reveal more about them in the next post.
THE HEAT is funded by Arts Council England, Commissioned by Sadlers Wells & South East Dance and supported by Central 151, Rose Lipman Building and Battersea Arts Centre ‘Makers Space Programme’.
PRO CLASS - FEBRUARY
From the 10th of February I’ll be in residence with my collaborators at the Mill Collective, Rose Lipman Building and leading Pro Class on 10th, 11th & 12th of Feb.
The class will be for all movement artists, all disciplines, ages, backgrounds and bodies. We will start with a yoga and conditioning warm up followed by different exercises and tasks to prepare the body and mind for performance, focusing on awareness, availability and integrity to the task.
Come with an open mind. Please don’t come expecting floor work or inversion practice from me ;)
